There are some names that guitar collectors seek out. Guitars like Airline, Truetone, and Silvertone which are guitars manufactured for sale in stores such as Sears and Montgomery Ward. These guitars were designations for the stores they were destined to be sold in.
The new Silvertones are good quality guitars. Unlike a high percentage of my peers I do not consider them cheap guitars. I love the feel the looks and the sound of mine and if I had to buy one again I definitely would. The configuration of this guitar is very similar to my Ibanez RG with the exception of a single coil neck pickup- which I prefer over a double coil. I can get a straty lead sound from the neck pickup and an almost tele sound with the neck and middle pickup. Even the color and feel is just like that of the RG. The neck does not have the jumbo frets like the Ibanez but the action and play-ability is great.
