So, you have an electric guitar...
|

I wanted to take a different approach in teaching the guitar. I do not teach it just musically but I teach it as a sort of
an extension of the person playing it. I think it is important to ‘put on’ and prepare to experience the guitar. I find
this helps to be more comfortable in learning and growing.
I have tried teaching folks the guitar in the past and they would quit after two or three lessons. They become
frustrated. The begin to understand that it takes time (lots) and hard work to be able to rip off leads like Van Halen.
They have no discipline, no passion, and they will not sacrifice the time required. So, I decided to look at it from the
approach I took. I am self taught. I hated the guitar on and off for the first few months I was learning. I expected too
much from myself and from time to time the frustration would bring me nearly to tears. Now the guitar is to me like a
singers voice is to them. It is a very personal thing, an intimate thing, a revealing thing.
